Who We Are
Sacred Healing Journeys is a psychedelic wellness center devoted to thoughtfully guided, ethically held experiences that support healing, insight, and meaningful personal change.
Our work is grounded in preparation, discernment, and integration, honoring both the power of psychedelic medicines and the complexity of the human experience. We believe this work is most effective when offered within a safe, intentional container guided by experience, clinical skill, and deep respect for the healing process.
About Monica Ramunda, Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator
Sacred Healing Journeys was founded and is guided by Monica Ramunda, MA, LPC, a licensed mental health professional with over 25 years of experience in private practice supporting individuals, couples, and families. She has spent decades helping clients navigate life transitions, relational challenges, family dynamics, trauma, anxiety, and mood-related concerns with warmth, clarity, and steady clinical presence. She is the founder of Rocky Mountain Counseling Services in Louisville, CO.
Monica is a Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist, a trained Ketamine-Assisted Therapist, and a licensed Plant Medicine Facilitator in training. Her work is grounded in clinical integrity, ethical responsibility, and a deep respect for careful preparation, meaning-making, and integration. She approaches psychedelic-assisted work not as a quick fix or catalyst for impulsive change, but as a thoughtful, intentional process that unfolds over time.
Monica is also trained in Brainspotting, a brain-based, somatic modality that supports trauma processing and nervous system regulation by accessing the body’s innate capacity to heal. This approach informs her work across individual sessions, group experiences, and retreat settings, allowing healing to emerge beyond words alone and supporting deeper emotional regulation and self-awareness.
Her work is further informed by embodiment and movement-based practices. Monica has completed White Belt training in NIA, a holistic movement practice that integrates dance, mindfulness, and body awareness. This embodied lens reflects her belief that healing and insight are not only cognitive, but lived and felt through the body, an essential component of sustainable transformation.
Monica is the co-founder of Wellness and Wisdom Journeys, offering women-centered psychedelic-informed wellness retreats both domestically and internationally. Through this work, she has supported hundreds of individuals in safe, ethical, and thoughtfully prepared journeys in both one-on-one and group retreat settings, with more than 24 retreats facilitated to date.
At this stage of my life and career, I feel deeply called to support people, particularly women in midlife and beyond, as they navigate transitions, rediscover meaning, and reconnect with their inner wisdom. I am a lifelong learner and continue to be inspired by the idea that growth, creativity, and reinvention are possible at any age.
My Path As A Psychedelic Integration Therapist
Earlier in my life, I spent time working as a tour guide in South America, leading groups through Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. During this time, I had the opportunity to witness indigenous ceremonies and time-honored traditions, deepening my respect for the wisdom embedded in ritual, community, and relationship to the land.
These experiences shaped how I understand healing—not as something rushed or extracted, but as a process that unfolds with reverence, patience, and care. This perspective continues to inform my work today, both in individual journeys and retreat settings.
Nature, animals, and travel remain central sources of inspiration in my life. I am also inspired by the artist Grandma Moses (who shares my birthday), who began painting in her late 70s and was named “Young Woman of the Year” at age 88—a reminder that creativity, wisdom, and purpose can continue to emerge throughout our lives.
Through my own journey into midlife, I’ve experienced a deepening sense of clarity and contentment. As my children transitioned into adulthood, I embraced this chapter as a personal renaissance—one that reinforced my belief in slowing down, listening inward, and honoring the seasons of life.
“How to start... I wish that every single person should have the opportunity to do this journey. For me this was life altering. I suffered from severe anxiety and some level of depression. My life is not the same anymore. I don’t have the weight on my chest. The anxiety that I felt is no longer there. I have boundaries with family and don’t feel like I need to control everything. I can’t wait to keep this vibe up and see where life will take me. Open your mind and heart and you will find what you need.”
